Comprehensive Benefits Package
Full-time employees of the Village of North Palm Beach are eligible to participate in a comprehensive employee benefit package.

Paid Vacation
Full-time employees earn a minimum of two weeks annual (vacation) time per year of service. Employees earn more time with increased service.

Paid Sick Time
Full-time employees earn one day of sick time per month for illness and medical/dental appointments for themselves or a qualified dependent.

Paid Holidays
North Palm Beach observes eleven paid holidays per year.

Paid Jury Duty & Bereavement Leave
North Palm Beach also offers jury duty and bereavement pay benefits to full-time employees.

Medical Insurance
Coverage in Cigna Open Access Plus plan with 3-tiered prescription coverage. The Village pays for full-time employees' single HMO coverage and 80% of dependent coverage. Employees pay 20% for dependent coverage.

Dental Insurance
Choice of coverage in Cigna Comp/Benefits DHMO or PPO plans. The Village pays for full-time employees' single DHMO coverage and 80% of dependent coverage on the DHMO plan. Employees pay 20% for dependent coverage and pick-up 100% of the cost difference if they select the higher-cost PPO plan.

Flexible Spending Account (FSA) for Dependent Care &/or Medical Expenses
Employees can elect to have up to $2,500 per year placed into a FSA on a pretax basis to pay for qualifying medical and/or dependent care expenses.

Life Insurance & AD&D
Employer-paid coverage with a $50,000 benefit.

Long Term Disability
Employer-paid coverage pays 60% of salary if employee is unable to return to work after 90 days of illness.

Supplemental Insurances
  • Additional life and AD&D insurance for employees and their dependents are available through payroll deduction.
  • Employees can obtain a variety of AFLAC products through payroll deduction.
  • Employees can purchase single, +1, or family supplemental vision insurance through EyeMed.
Retirement Plan
North Palm Beach offers various retirement planning options depending on the employee's position, including a sponsored defined benefit pension plan or 401(a) defined contribution plan with a 15% Village contribution rate.

457-Deferred Compensation Plan
In addition to these plans, all full-time employees may elect to participate in an ICMA-RC 457 deferred compensation plan for tax sheltered savings with a 1/2 rate Village-match to a max of $720 annually.
