Doug Bush, Vice Mayor

Council Terms
Doug Bush was first elected to the Village Council of North Palm Beach in March 2012.  Currently serving as Vice Mayor, Mr. Bush  previously served as President Pro Tem in 2015.
 
Background
Harry Douglas Bush Jr. (“Doug”) has been a resident of North Palm Beach for 16 years, and comes from a family that has been a part of the North Palm Beach community for over 30 years. Doug attended Cardinal Newman High School, during which he was active in serving North Palm Beach; becoming an Eagle Scout, receiving the Congressional Bronze Service Award, and ultimately being awarded the “Heart of North Palm Beach” award in 2001. Following high school, Doug attended Boston College and graduated with a Philosophy degree in 2006. Doug has 4 years of experience working for U.S. Congressional District Florida-16, as well as a campaign staffer for a 2002 Massachusetts Gubernatorial Election and a 2008 Presidential bid. Also during his time in Massachusetts, he managed a campaign for State Representative, as well as serving a collegiate representative to a statewide political party. While living in Boston, Doug met Gillian, now his wife, and they married in 2011. Doug is now leading the sales team for 87-year old West Palm Beach-based Bush Brothers Provisions, representing the 5th generation of the Bush family to lead at Bush Brothers. Doug also currently serves on the national Board of Directors for the North American Meat Association, the premier trade organization for his industry.
