As Hurricane Dorian slowly moves away from the Palm Beach County area, Village staff is working to restore normal daily activity and Village business:

Trash collection

Trash collection will resume Wednesday morning according to the routine weekly pick-up schedule:

  • Wednesday — Garbage and yard vegetation pick up
  • Thursday — Bulk item pick up
  • Friday — Garbage and yard vegetation


  • The Country Club golf course will open for play Wednesday at 9:30 a.m.
  • At the Country Club Tennis Center, staff will work Wednesday on the court with the goal of opening for play Thursday. The opening time will be posted on the Village website and social media. 
  • Village Hall and other offices will open Wednesday at 8 a.m.
  • The Village Library will be open with adjusted hours from Wednesday, from 9 a.m. to 5 p.m.

Parks and Recreation activities

  • Parks and Recreation is working to determine when their facilities will be open again. The info will be posted on the Village website and social media.

Village Actions

  • The Village’s declared State of Emergency period will end Tuesday at 6 p.m.
  • The Village Emergency Operation Center and citizen hotline ((561) 904-2147), will close Tuesday at 6 p.m.

Safety notices

  • Hurricane Dorian still is off the coast of Florida, and Palm Beach County remains under a Tropical Storm Warning. The Village highly recommends that residents continue to monitor local news sources and Village social media in case the storm makes an unexpected change in direction.
  • Water levels are high in Village waterways, and winds remain gusty. Continued caution is advised. Avoid driving through high water.
  • If traffic lights are out or not working properly, threat the intersection like a 4-way stop sign.
  • Stay away from any downed power lines, even if they appear harmless.
  • To get information about power outages, call FPL at 1-800-4-OUTAGE (1-800-468-8243), or download the FPL app from Google Play or the App Store.
