The Crime Scene Unit works closely with the Detective Squad and responds to scenes where there is a need to collect and process evidence.The evidence is then used to help successfully prosecute the suspects who were involved in the reported crime.

The Crime Scene Unit technicians receive specialized training in areas of evidence collection, latent print recovery, photography and different types of DNA, & biological trace evidence collection. 

They are responsible for not only collecting and processing the evidence but also for developing suspect leads. It is truly a team effort that makes for a successful identification, arrest and prosecution of a suspect and the Crime Scene Unit is a critical part of the team.
