Business Tax Receipt process

Here are some instructions to help you navigate through the Business Tax Receipt process:

Find BTR Number for Renewal

If you do not know your BTR, follow the steps below:

1. Log in and select "Search Permits" from the menu on the left side of the homepage.
2. Change the Project Type from "Permits" to "BTR".
3. In the Address field, enter your address.
4. After typing the address, scroll down and click the "Search" button.
5. Once the results appear, click the three-dot symbol ("⋯") next to your record.
6. From the options that appear, select "Add to My Account" to add the BTR to your profile.

How To: Linking Your BTR to Your Account

If you already have your BTR number, please follow these steps to link it to your account:

1. Log in and select "Search Permits" located on the left side of the homepage.
2. Change the project type from "Permits" to "BTR".
3. On the same page, you will see a field for the BTR Number — enter your BTR number there.
4. After typing the BTR Number, scroll down and click the "Search" button.
5. Once it appears, scroll down and look for the three dots symbol ("⋯").
6. Click on the dots, and you should see an option to add the BTR to your account.

How To: Start a Renewal 

To start a renewal, please follow these steps:

1. Go back to the homepage. On the left corner, you will see "Apply for a Business Tax Receipt".
2. Click "Submission to an Existing Project".
3. Click "Renewals - All Other", or select the option that applies to you.
4. In "Search by Project Number," enter your BTR number, then click Search at the bottom.
5. Fill out all the required questions. At the end, you will be asked to upload documents. You're welcome to upload any documents we might need. If you have nothing to upload, simply skip to the next step. Once completed, just wait—we will process the information.
