Orlando Puyol, Councilmember

Council Term

Orlando Puyol was elected to the Village Council in 2024 and currently serves as Councilmember.

Professional

Village Councilmember Orlando Puyol was born in Havana Cuba in 1954 and moved to the United States in 1960. He became an American citizen in the early 1970s, and married Susie in 1976. In 1977 he graduated from the University of Florida with a Bachelors of Science in Civil Engineering, becoming a Professional Engineer and a Certified General Contractor. He still holds Florida licenses for both. 

His career began at Cape Canaveral before moving on to Lonestar Industries as a project manager for building construction and materials manufacturing group. In 1985, Orlando came to North Palm Beach and helped start a design and construction commercial and light industrial firm. 

Orlando and Susie started a children’s preschool  in 1990 (Gardens Learning Center), which is now directed by daughter, Sofia Puyol Johnson.

In 2014 Orlando reactivated his general contractors license to build homes for himself and his children under the company name of Puyol Enterprise Inc. The homebuilding and remodeling  business is now managed by son, Eddy Puyol. His youngest son, Bobby Puyol, is the Director of Stewardship at Christ Fellowship Church.

Personal

Orlando and Susie have three children; Eddy, Sofia, and Bobby. With their spouses Corinne, Chris and Aubrey, the children have given Orlando and Susie eight grandchildren (Mackson, Ava, Olivia, Harper, Sadie, Caylee, Cody and Brady). Their ages range from two to 10 years old.  Orlando is an avid outdoorsman who enjoys all water sports, especially fishing. He also takes part in the Men’s Golf Association at the Country Club. He plays every day when the sun shines, if possible.

Civic Involvement

Orlando was selected by Judy Pierman for Council appointment to the Planning, Zoning, and Adjustment Board, where he served for five years. Later he was selected by David Norris, to the golf advisory board, where he served for four years.   Orlando was appointed by the Village Council to serve as the voting delegate of the 2024 Florida League of Cities Annual Conference and was recently appointed to serve on the 2024-2025 Florida League of Cities Legislative Policy Committee - Finance and Taxation.
