Here is a summary of the key issues the Village Council will address at their meeting on Thursday, February 13 at 6 p.m. in Village Hall:
- Recognize the many years of service to Village residents by Police Chief Richard Jenkins, who announced his retirement from the Village in January.
- Issue a Proclamation in support of 211 Awareness Month.
- Consider approval of contract changes with Precision Landscape Company and Salgado Tree Trimming for tree trimming, management and
- maintenance services, increasing the amount of compensation during from $50,000 to $100,000 per year.
- Consider on second reading, eliminating the Golf Advisory Board and creating a Country Club Advisory Board. The proposal is intended to ensure proper citizen representation and oversight of other Country Club assets, such as the pool and Tennis Center.
- Consider on first reading, changes to Village Code regulating noise control and permissible hours of construction activity, as well as the use of power-driven machinery.
- Consider on first reading, approval of changes to Retirement Benefits for Fire and Police Employees resulting from Collective Bargaining.
- Consider approving the purchase of property 9555 Old Dixie Highway at a cost of $1,065,000. The property would be used for relocation of the Village Public Works Department.
- Consider on first reading, approving changes to the General Fund Budget to provide for funding for the purchase of a new Public Works Department facility; transferring $1,065,000 to the Capital Projects Fund Public Works Land Acquisition Capital Account.
- Consider approving a Blanket Purchase Order with Flying Scot for sidewalk removal and replacement in the amount of $200,000.
- Hold a discussion about the possible implementation of a Tree Removal Permit process.
