Here is a summary of the key issues the Village Council will address at their meeting on Thursday, February 27 at 6 p.m. in Village Hall:
- Recognize long-time Village business "Lott Brothers Inc" as Business of the Season winner. The Village Business Advisory Board has a new program to recognize an outstanding business each season, and chose Lott Brothers tackle shop for Spring 2025. Lott Brothers has been in business in the Village since 1962.
- Issue a proclamation recognizing "Let's Move Palm Beach County Month."
- Consider amending a contract for Building Department Services with C.A.P. Government Inc, increasing the amount of compensation for Fiscal Year 2025 from $50,000 to $150,000.
- Consider on 2nd reading, changes to Village Code regulating noise control and permissible hours of construction activity, as well as the use of power-driven machinery and setting the daily stop time for construction activity at 5:30 p.m.
- Consider on 2nd reading, approval of changes to Retirement Benefits for Fire and Police Employees resulting from Collective Bargaining.
- Consider on 2nd reading, amending the General Fund Budget to provide funding for the purchase of real property for a new Public Works Department Facility, transferring $1,065,000 from the Unassigned Fund Balance to the Capital Projects Fund Public Works Land Acquisition Capital Account.
- Consider a request to declare various Country Club food and beverage operations equipment as surplus property and authorizing its disposal.
- Consider adopting a resolution urging the Florida State Legislature to enact legislation to provide a public records exemption for Municipal Clerks and employees who perform municipal elections work or have any part in the code enforcement functions of a municipality.
- After the Regular Meeting, the Council will hold a Strategic Planning Workshop and review of the Advisory Board appointment process. This meeting is estimated to begin at 7:30 p.m.
