[ARCHIVED] Council to consider applicants for boards and committees Thursday

Here is a summary of the key issues the Village Council will address at their meeting on Thursday, May 8 at 6 p.m. in Village Hall:

  • Issue a proclamation in recognition of Municipal Clerks Week
  • Issue a proclamation in recognition of Public Works Week
  • Consider an Interlocal Agreement with Treasure Coast Regional Planning Council to update the Citizens Master Plan and Strategic Plan for an amount of $30,000
  • Consider several applicants to boards and committees, then appoint members to the Audit Committee, Environmental Committee, General Employees Pension Board, Library Advisory Board, Recreation Advisory Board and Waterways Board
  • Consider on second reading, changes to Village Code clarifying Country Club and golf course hours of operation and explicitly outlining prohibitions against damaging or defacing facilities, including golf course grass and bunkers. The proposed changes would explicitly prohibit the use of vehicles other than authorized Village golf carts on the golf course, and specifying which types of vehicles can and be used on the paved pathways.
  • Consider approving updates to a long-held parking agreement with The Benjamin Private School for parking within the Mclaren Road Right-of-Way
  • Conduct an "NPB University - Know Your Department" session with the Police and Fire Departments, taking an in-depth look at their responsibilities, key budget items, and upcoming plans
  • Hold a workshop to discuss adopting a new set of allowable business types on properties in a Commercial-Transition Zoning District (C-T). The Village has 11 properties with a C-T zoning designation, predominately along the east side of Alternate A1A, with one property located on Prosperity Farms Road. The C-T zoning code has not been updated since 1999
