Here is a summary of the key issues the Village Council will address at their meeting on Thursday, June 12 at 6 p.m. in Village Hall:
- Zoning changes final vote – Take a final vote on zoning code updates for Commercial-Transition districts, updating the list of allowed businesses to better reflect modern needs and preserve the community character of areas south of the Earman River.
- Comprehensive Plan updates – Consider major changes to the Village’s Comprehensive Plan, including updates to land use, conservation, housing, infrastructure, and adoption of a new Water Supply Facilities Work Plan to guide smart growth.
- Landscape services expansion – Consider increasing a purchase order with Precision Landscape Company from $100,000 to $200,000 to continue providing landscaping and grounds maintenance services amid growing needs.
- Country Club wash plant – Consider approving a bid from Ahrens Enterprises to build a wash plant at the North Palm Beach Country Club, at a cost not to exceed $941,962.
- Portable generator purchase – Consider purchasing a portable generator from Genset Services for $159,758 to support critical power needs during emergencies.
- NPB University continues – Continue the “NPB University – Know Your Department” series with an inside look at the Parks & Recreation Department and the Library, including their services, budgets, and future plans.
- Public participation workshop – Hold a workshop to review and refine public participation rules for Village meetings, ensuring respectful, two-way communication between residents and Village leadership.
- Closed legal session – Consider holding an attorney-client closed session related to the case of Michael A. Bozzuto and NP Management v. the Village of North Palm Beach.
