Aiming to make Board and Committee assignments more accessible to more residents, the Council recently changed the selection process for open seats. The Village now has several new openings, so this is a great time to get involved, share your ideas, and have a say in the future of the Village!
Under the new procedure, whenever a Board or Committee seat reaches its natural expiration date, or is vacated for any other reason, the Village will open the application process for that seat equally to all who are interested.
This means a sitting member of that Board or Committee who wants to continue in the specific seat after the term expires will have to re-apply and move through the consideration process again, along with any other candidates who apply.
The Council will then consider all applicants and decide on the best candidate, which may or may not be the member who has occupied the seat most recently.
Apply by April 1st!
