2. Describe how this annual progress report (not the credited Plan) was prepared and how it was submitted to the governing body, released to the media, and made available to the public:  

This progress report was prepared by Caryn Gardner-Young, Community Development Director, and will be distributed to the Village Council members, to the media, and copies of the report will be available to the public on the website and the Village Clerk’s Office. 

 3. Provide a description of the implementation of each recommendation or action item in the action plan or area analysis report, including a statement on how the project was implemented or not implemented during the previous year: 

There are 131 mitigation projects on the current countywide Palm Beach County Unified Local Mitigation Strategy 2020 (2020 LMS) Prioritized Project List (PPL).  During the reporting period, the Village of North Palm Beach had one project on the Prioritized Project List (PPL - 2023 Spring), which was removed from the list in the spring of 2024 but is still awaiting funding.

4. Discuss why any objectives were not reached or why implementation is behind schedule: 

The project has been postponed while awaiting FDEP approval and the release of funding through FEMA.

5. What are the recommendations for new projects or revised recommendations? 

Upon the postponement and removal of the only remaining project listed on the PPL during this reporting year, the Village plans to submit additional infrastructure projects to be considered by the LMS Committee for inclusion on the Fall 2024 PPL. The recently completed Stormwater Planning process, undertaken to draft a new Stormwater Master Plan, identified several projects which are good candidates to submit for inclusion on the PPL. Stormwater tidal check valves are another possible project to be submitted to the PPL.

Additionally, the Village plans to continue its ongoing work on storm water pipe & catch basin repair, as well as swale re-establishment.
